Drinks with hidden calories

Drinks with hidden calories:

“A new report has revealed that the average British drinker downs a belly-busting 3,000 extra calories every week from booze.

It’s not just alcohol which gives drinks hidden calories: cream, full-fat milk and all the trimmings can obviously play their part. Take the Starbucks white chocolate mocha with whipped cream for example: 619 calories.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, milkshakes are not going to be your best bet if a low-calorie thirst quencher is what you’re after. A large McDonald’s shake will add 582 calories to your daily intake. That’s nearly 100 calories more than a Big Mac.

Smoothies may be delicious - and very good for you - but it’s good to keep an eye on the labels with these little bottles of goodness: Marks & Spencer’s Vanilla Velvet Smoothie contains a massive 450 calories.

And if you like a caffeine pick-me-up through the day, try to avoid drinks like Coke, which contains a 139 calories. They’re likely to give you a sugar rush which could leave you craving more once your thirst is quenched.”

Suprisingly, Coke doesn’t stack up too badly against some of the other choices.
